Insurance may just mean a different type of insurance altogether. Terminal Policy is a thriller following Martin Raker as he’s placed against a corruption that seeks out any person or property that is insured and marks it for death or instructions. Throughout the world, things begin to fall apart, as the worlds of insurance and fear begin to intertwine and the world falls apart under it. Terminal Policy is a fun and fascinating read that shouldn’t be missed.

Monterey author pens gripping thriller Terminal Policy
Book takes on insurance industry
Local connection: A Monterey resident, the 85-year-old author draws on his experiences in insurance, real estate, securities and advertising in this, his first novel. Terminal Policy has been McCurry’s passion for the past decade.
Content: McCurry’s inspiration for his novel comes from what he considers the “often heartless nature of the insurance industry.” Emblazoned on the cover of his book you’ll find “Profit is the game, death is the payoff.” Never losing sight of those words, this story centers on what happens when a huge international insurance company becomes the target of someone bent on turning the tables on the firm.
Having accessed Pan Global’s computer system, terrorists plan to execute “strikes” against the company’s clients, resulting in runaway claims that will destroy the insurance firm.
Beverly Martin Raker, the head of Prevent Incorporated, doesn’t miss the irony of this “business plan” that Pan Global’s adversaries have adopted. But when he’s hired to deal with the situation, Raker’s own approach is equally ruthless and brutal.
Along with his highly trained staff, the former mercenary knows how to play dirty and this, indeed, will be a very dirty job that will call upon all of Raker’s special skills.
As the action flows from Manhattan to Paris, Mexico City, London, Rome and Geneva, following Martin Raker as he goes about his business makes for a spellbinding and entertaining read.
Audience: With a topical theme that any reader can relate to, this fast-paced novel will keep those who love action-packed thrillers glued to the page. Intrigue, double crosses, beautiful women and gut-wrenching violence—it’s all packed into McCurry’s riveting story.
